Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Love came to Australia in 1992 and was fascinated by the beach lifestyle and relaxed atmosphere of the Queensland coast. A self-taught artist since he was four years old, Love set about trying to capture the beauty and simplicity of the scenes that inspired him.

Ranging from semi-realistic to very stylised, his depictions of yachts sailing in aqua blue seas, the cool dark shadows of thick-trunked palm trees on hot sunlit sands, and views of the ocean glimpsed through tropical flowers and sand dunes express the essence of the local environment and are very appealing.

Love’s work proved very popular with locals, and over a short time his patronage quickly extended to art lovers from all over Australia and the international market. He has also worked on large commissions for both corporate and private projects.
