ARTISTS USING MIXED MEDIA                                           BACK TO GALLERY

artist statement

‘Nostalgic threads in paint and objects evoke a sense of spirit and place as the artist weaves a narrative in the in-between of half-remembered stories and the strangely familiar’

I am a dedicated art practitioner of 15 years with experience in gallery and studio practice, facilitation, teaching and commissions for public and private art in mosaic, assemblage and sculpture. I work in oil glaze, acrylic and mixed media on canvas.

The latest series ‘drawing with objects’ combines media & assemblage of salvaged materials and memorabilia on traditional painting grounds. For me it represents a synergy of my traditional painting practices fused with the object as a site of memory. This is my story of place, time and history that allows me to combine my diverse strengths of genre together with gatherings and collectings of found and salvaged materials and memorabilia.
