VIVIENNE
CILENTO |
|
Born into a family of Brisbane Doctors and Artists, from an early age Vivienne chose the brush and easel over the stethoscope but grew to believe that Art has the power to heal. It was not until she won an International Art Scholarship in the nineties, that she was able to formally study Art as a career. Vivienne creates many of her own pigments and textures and always adds ‘a little bit of Australia’ as a healing Talisman. Coastal soils and sands for prosperity; ancient shells for longevity; pollens, teas, Australian bush flowers, minerals and essential oils. “I believe we are constantly influenced on a subliminal level by the vibration of colour and form. Yellow stimulates the intellect, reds and earth tones arouse passion and turquoise soothes and heals. Art resonates on a non-verbal level so it’s important to surround yourself with art that supports and moves you whenever you look at it. Painting is the Spiritual process of spilling your soul onto the canvas. It comes from that still and silent place within us all that forever shouts to be heard.” Vivienne’s work is diverse and symbolic. Her inspiration and imagery comes increasingly from universal and archetypal themes and concepts about people, relationships, and the quest for truth. Her art is both light-hearted and profound, contemplative and evocative. Vivienne creates richly textured layers and her colours are sensual and delicious. She is influenced by abstract expressionism, metaphysics and meditation, tribal and primitive art. Vivienne’s unique works are in demand by
collectors and designers for homes, corporate offices and foyers, as she
captures the intrinsic spirit of her subject with refreshing and unconventional
use of materials, colour, texture, and form.
