Brett Allen

Brett Allen was born in Sydney. Attending an experimental school encouraged an early creative streak, and the study of science and arts in high school graduating gave him an interest in metal work. Following high school, he attended TAFE and studied welding.

Early travels around Australia with his family encouraged him to travel abroad as a young adult, exploring north America, England and Europe and many Pacific islands. On his return to Australia Brett ran a motorcycle mechanic repair shop, while continuing his creative activities outside work hours.

His sculpting progressed from metals to multi media pieces incorporating wood, stone, aluminium, steel and eventually silver, gold and bronze. He sold his repair shop in 2001, and has been a full time sculptor since then, creating his original pieces and undertaking commissions.
