ARTISTS USING MIXED MEDIA
Jenny Behm-Driutti

Seeking new challenges after 20 years of teaching, in November 1998 Jenny Behm-Driutti took up painting, and with the encouragement of friends, pursued her talent to a more public sense.

She began exhibiting in July 1999, having immediately seen a large body of her work secured for the international collection of global law firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, headquartered in New York. Corporate Art Centre is thrilled to represent Jenny on the Gold Coast, exhibiting now a large body of her new artworks.

Jenny has been gifted with the passion to create artworks in a blazing richness of colour, producing a sensual feast of highly original pieces. She works quickly and with great intensity, preferring the combination of acrylics, pastel and puff paints to create the layers and textures her concepts demand. Her decorative style is constantly evolving as it emits a strength of energy, warmth and life that few artist manage to capture, let alone convey with such obvious passion.

Every painting is conveyed through superior design using a number of mediums, layered and swirled to create a high relief, tactile finish, which she enhances with perspex, stainless steel rigging wires, or in one case, elements of a commercial shopfitting system. She isn’t satisfied with her artworks until they have all been completed with her own highly individual framing systems in either aluminium, wood, copper or a mixture of all three.

An emotional colourist, these works show her mastery and complete control of her chosen form.
