director Leanne Pearce spoke to the design industry about the
processes & issues involved in integrating art into projects
such as hotels, resorts & multi residential developments.

Her speech caught
the attention of the design professionals who packed the funky
'Street & Garden Furniture Co' warehouse venue in Brisbane's
West End. They were particularly interested in more details about
the art packages corporateartcentre
developed for the Palazzo Versace Hotel
on the Gold Coast. Questions came from all over the room
about the processes involved in supplying art on such a large-scale
project with its unique 'neo-classical' brief.
The first speaker
of the night was Christine Murray, Senior Procurement Manager
in the Public Art Unit of the Government's Project Services. Christine's
talk explained the Department of Public Works' 'Art-Built-In'
Policy and illustrated the various public art projects she has
undertaken such as the Gabba Stadium, the Old Museum Building
and 63 George St Government Offices.
The night ended
with the drawing of the lucky door prize (original painting supplied
by corporateartcentre). Thank you
to all who attended it was a great night!
