An
Evening With Craig Ruddy

A successful, fun &
informative night was had by all at 'An Evening With Craig
Ruddy'
on Thursday night 3rd December
at Corporate Art Centre Gallery.
Corporate Art Centre Director
Leanne Pearce opened the 'Limited Edition Works on Paper'
Exhibition
and then announced the
opening of a new Art Gallery in 2010 at the Ferry
Road Markets in Southport
After the excitement and
applause died down she then introduced special guest of honour,
Archibald Prize
Winner Craig Ruddy who had flown in
from his latest sell out exhibition
in Sydney. Craig spoke
about the processes involved in creating a Limited Edition Etching
and how, with the help
of publisher Berkeley Editions he produced his
3 inaugural works
'Embers', 'Dawn Embrace'
& 'Nocturnal Flower'.
These works were on exhibition
on the night
as well as the original etching plates
used in the process of
creating his work..
"It's been
amazing working in this medium, which has a different quality
of line to what
I'm used to doing. I was very
happy to just go with the process, which is a lot more
complex than I had imagined."
Robyn Berkeley
herself also attended on the night to speak about the high investment
value of Limited
Edition Works on Paper which are also known in the art
world as the
'little gems of
any good art collection'.
"An asset
that appreciates while it's appreciated. What other investment
provides
as much pleasure
as collecting art?"
In addition to Craig Ruddy's
works, also on exhibition until 24th December are
limited edition works by
other renowned and highly collectable Australian Artists:
Margaret Olley,
David Boyd,
Jason Benjamin, Gary
Shead, Tim Storrier,
Melissa Egan and
Belinda Fox.
Corporate Art Centre would
like to thank Craig Ruddy for taking time out of his
busy schedule to attend on the night and Robyn
Berkeley and Frances Frame
from
Berkeley Editions for their continued support and assistance
in putting this event & exhibition together
